Tour and more tour

Not a huge update but tour is great and tour booking is going great for the fall. I'm excited to play so many shows in Europe later this year. I'm thinking of extending my trip. I wish it was this easy to tour in the States because I also love to play here.

I love playing and writing and performing. Using this part of my brain again feels comfortable and needed. I love making albums and dreaming up music videos. I feel comfortable and challenged at the same time.

I did some preliminary recording before I left New Orleans and I'll be back in the studio next month recording the bulk of the album. July is reserved for finishing touches. I expect to release in September, no exact date to share just yet. You all will have it before the official release, of course.

I'm worried I set my goal too low to do all the things I need to do. Costs are higher than they were the last time I made an album and I wasn't counting on that. I can make the album for this much, but I might have to get pretty minimal packaging and I'm worried I won't have a budget for promotion. My last album made it on independent radio charts because of the promotion I did. That ended up paying for itself over time, and then some, but I need the money to make it happen up front. I'm going to try to budget so I have enough left over but the radio promotion alone is going to be $1800-2500!! Yipes! It makes sense because it involves sending hundreds of copies of the album out to radio stations around the country and then follow-up calls and emails to DJs (which, I would do myself but it is received better from a promoter). Kim used to do this for our albums, back in the day, and she would have to hear DJs say what they didn't like about our music. I'd like to avoid that.
